The
Pantheon of Rome - 125 CE. Built by the Emperor Hadrian as a temple for all the Roman gods. It became a Christian Church in 609. The Pantheon replaced an earlier temple built by Agrippa after the Battle of Actium that was destroyed by the great fire of Rome in 80 CE, rebuilt and destroyed again when it was struck by lightning in 110 CE. Hadrian ordered that the temple be rebuilt with a new design, the current Pantheon.

The dome - the coffers were built from molds. The opening at the top is the only natural light in the dome.
